Today is Veterans Day, and we take time to honor those who have served American or who are serving currently. Unlike Memorial Day where we remember the dead, today is about honoring those still with us who have served in some capacity or other.
Today as I think of the veterans in our family, I think of our grandfather and his Navy Dental Corps buddies who even last year were working on providing stories for a book on the history of the Navy Dental Corps. Hopefully, those stories will be published, but so many veteran tales go unwritten.
Thank your service men and women today, and if you get a chance, spend time with one. Not all of our heroic stories are mentioned in history books, but some waiting to be heard can be found just across the street or even in the person standing next to you.

Nice picture and I am sure you mean well, however we never ever salute with our left hand.

He is saluting with his right hand. The viewer is looking at the man in uniform from behind his right shoulder.

Yes, at first glance the picture is presenting somewhat of an illusion of which hand is used in the salute but I think Terry is right and the view is from behind the right shoulder.
Great pic !

Yeah I get it now! He is saluting with his right hand! My husband was in the Navy for 25 years, asked him about the salute and he looked at the picture and said the said thing. He is saluting with his right hand! Great pic! I will use it for my first- grade blog! Thanks!
