July 12-Dagsboro, DE Maureen is simply the best. All one needs to do is look at the smile on Pop Pop’s face, and you know that there is a magic in this woman’s way. All of us have seen our main man down in the dumps since the change in March. But Maureen doesn’t allow it. Only good humor and good times are permitted when she’s around. And the great thing is, she’s not the only one having fun.
A few weekends ago several of the Nortons and the Donahues took Pop Pop accompanied by Maureen and her children to the beach. We weren’t sure if the nostalgia would be overwhelming for Pop Pop, but clearly, he was at home in his element.
The family alternated their time between the Culotta and Donahue homes and also took time to go to the beach and ride on the boat. It was great to see Maureen’s family have fun. Her daughter was a pro at driving the boat, and her son took to crabbing like a pro earning him the name “Crab Man” for the weekend.
Clearly, families go through difficult times of strain and stress as lifestyles and living conditions change. But its nice to have people like Maureen to help us put life in perspective. Life is not all fun and games and roses–but it can be if we choose it.
